Folds of Honor

Tellico Village hosts multiple charity fundraisers every year, both on and off the golf course. For each one, our Villagers come out in droves to offer support. One charity that your local PGA Golf Professionals support each year is the Folds of Honor Foundation. For those who don’t know, Folds of Honor raises money to help fallen and disable soldiers’ families with educational scholarships. Unlike some charities that have high administrative cost, Folds of Honor gives 89% of every dollar to their scholarship program. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded approximately 24,500 educational scholarships. In 2019, 4,500 scholarships were awarded. In the state of Tennessee, there were 240 recipients and a total of $1,181,000. The average scholarship in Tennessee was $4,921. As a state, we have increased our donation by 57% from 2018-2019. Out of all the clubs in the state, Tellico Village was 7th. Thank you to all the Villagers who made that possible. For the 4th year in a row, we were awarded a plaque to hang in the shop recognizing Tellico Village as a top performer. To see all our plaques please stop by the Toqua Pro Shop. Pictured below is Crissie Carpenter. Crissie lost her husband 9 years ago, and a month after his death gave birth to their son. The Folds of Honor awarded her with a scholarship and the future tuition of their son. Crissie now mentors and helps other families dealing with similar circumstances.

Thank you, Tellico Village, for making it possible for people like Crissie to move forward. Our next Folds of Honor event will be later this fall. Stay tuned for more golf announcements and we look forward to seeing you all at the courses!
