Tanasi Course Tour
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 15; Ladies’ HCP: 17
Black – 336 Blue – 300 White – 271 Orange – 271 Green – 228 Yellow – 228
The opening hole at Tanasi is a gentle start to your round. The longest of hitters can challenge the short par 4 off the tee. The less aggressive and less limber amongst Tellico Village can play a tee shot short of the first fairway bunker on the right and be left with a short iron or wedge approach up the hill to the green.
- Par 5 Men’s HCP: 7; Ladies’ HCP: 3
Black – 531 Blue – 508 White – 482 Orange – 445 Green – 445 Yellow – 355
The second hole is a reachable par 5 for long hitters and arguably the second birdie opportunity in as many holes. Players must navigate the lone tree along the fairway on the inside of the dog-leg left. Those reaching the green in three should keep in mind the pond to the left ready to swallow any errant layup.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 9; Ladies’ HCP: 11
Black – 424 Blue – 390 White – 356 Orange – 330 Green – 330 Yellow – 270
Tee shot accuracy on the third is paramount as the downhill slope can take anything slightly offline and carry it behind either tree straddling the fairway.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 11; Ladies’ HCP: 9
Black – 386 Blue – 352 White – 324 Orange – 271 Green – 271 Yellow – 271
This moderate length par 4 plays uphill all the way to a well-protected green. Avoid the bunkers and trees to the right off of the tee or face a big challenge to save par.
- Par 3 Men’s HCP: 17; Ladies’ HCP: 15
Black – 210 Blue – 190 White – 172 Orange – 172 Green – 138 Yellow – 138
The first par 3 on the golf course is the easiest. Despite the relatively long distance, the green complex is bunker-less and the pond is well in front of the green and should not come into play with a decent strike.
- Par 5 Men’s HCP: 5; Ladies’ HCP: 5
Black – 506 Blue – 480 White – 460 Orange – 385 Green – 385 Yellow – 340
A true risk/reward par 5 awaits players at the sixth. A downhill tee shot affords the player a few extra yards of roll. Don’t go too far, however, as the pond awaits long balls leaking to the right. The second shot requires a real hero effort for those going for the green in two. Off of a downhill lie, players must carry it all the way to the putting surface as the green complex is cut off from balls running up the front.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 3; Ladies’ HCP: 7; Ladies’ Par 5
Black – 436 Blue – 414 White – 392 Orange – 364 Green – 392 Yellow – 364
The longest par 4 on the golf course on the men’s side, it is driver all the way off the tee to a tree-lined fairway with a blind landing zone.
- Par 3 Men’s HCP: 13; Ladies’ HCP: 13
Black – 191 Blue – 172 White – 151 Orange – 151 Green – 135 Yellow – 135
Perhaps the signature hole at Tanasi, the 8th plays over a corner of Lake Tellico to a green complex with bunkering on three sides. Any pin location in the back left of this green is very difficult to access.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 1; Ladies’ HCP: 1
Black – 395 Blue – 369 White – 336 Orange – 307 Green – 267 Yellow – 267
The hardest hole on the golf course and perhaps the hardest hole in all of Tellico Village. This moderate-length par 4 has produced more colorful language than Shakespeare over the years. Your best bet is to lay well back with less than driver on your tee shot to remain on level ground. This will leave a mid to long iron approach across Lake Tellico to an elevated green. Players needing a shorter carry over the water can opt to play further down the slope, but face an awkward downhill lie to the green above.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 2; Ladies’ HCP: 8
Black – 431 Blue – 389 White – 352 Orange – 273 Green – 273 Yellow – 204
One of the most scenic holes in all of Tellico Village. Use the slope of the terrain on the right to play away from Lake Tellico that runs the length of the hole on the left.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 18; Ladies’ HCP: 18
Black – 298 Blue – 273 White – 262 Orange – 262 Green – 212 Yellow – 212
The easiest hole on the golf course awaits players on the eleventh. A drivable par 4, long hitters will have to carry the ball all the way up hill to the putting surface as the green is heavily guarded by bunkers in front. The more conservative approach can still provide a look at birdie as players can approach from the left with a wedge.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 10; Ladies HCP: 10
Black – 380 Blue – 354 White – 339 Orange – 298 Green – 298 Yellow – 230
A blind tee shot from the back tees should follow the walking path to the tee box in front and then down the hill to the fairway. Accuracy is a must here as any ball heading left risks finding the long natural grass of the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
- Par 5 Men’s HCP: 4; Ladies’ HCP: 2
Black – 575 Blue – 542 White – 503 Orange – 459 Green – 459 Yellow – 390
The longest hole on the golf course requires two great shots from even the longest hitters to reach the green in two on this double dog-leg. Mere mortals will do well to avoid the fairway bunkers off the tee and on the layup before approaching the green above.
- Par 3 Men’s HCP: 14; Ladies’ HCP: 14
Black – 169 Blue – 165 White – 155 Orange – 155 Green – 128 Yellow – 128
This moderate in length par 3 can be made tricky depending on the direction and strength of the wind. Ample bail-out spots are available short and right for any player filled with doubt.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 6; Ladies’ HCP: 4
Black – 370 Blue – 329 White – 314 Orange – 314 Green – 289 Yellow – 206
Don’t fall victim to this hole’s desires as it wants to take every ball left down toward the bunker and penalty area. Any tee shot that holds a line right of the bunkers will be just fine. The three-tiered green sloping from back-to-front can be a player’s best friend or worst enemy.
- Par 4 Men’s HCP: 8; Ladies’ HCP: 6
Black – 403 Blue – 364 White – 326 Orange – 326 Green – 289 Yellow – 206
Another downhill tee shot to uphill approach. Long hitters will either need to take less than driver off the tee or turn the ball from left-to-right to avoid going through the fairway and into the trees. Be careful with any forward hole location as the putting surface hides a deceptive false front.
- Par 5 Men’s HCP: 12; Ladies’ HCP: 12
Black – 512 Blue – 474 White – 460 Orange – 426 Green – 396 Yellow – 396
The penultimate hole on the golf course is a feast-or-famine, straightaway par 5. The entire hole slopes from right-to-left toward a drop off and out-of-bounds.
- Par 3 Men’s HCP: 16; Ladies’ HCP: 16
Black – 178 Blue – 163 White – 143 Orange – 143 Green – 127 Yellow – 127
The rare par 3 finishing hole is a boom or bust proposition depending on hole location. A pin in the front right is a green light and possible birdie. A pin in the back left is a hold on for dear life to get in the clubhouse.
