2019 Tellico Village Red-Tailed Hawk Invitational Tournament

Tellico Village, Tennessee – March 28, 2019   The Red-Tailed Hawk Invitational (formerly known as the Men’s Member-Guest Tournament) is the elite event in Tellico Village, showcasing our golf courses, our facilities and the lifestyle that makes the Village such a special place to live and enjoy the great game of golf. The 2019 Tournament Committee has been working hard aligning partnerships, including many new partners and coordinating events to ensure another wonderful opportunity for our members and their guests to enjoy beautiful Tellico Village! The 2019 tournament will take place Wednesday, June 12th through Saturday, June 15th. EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: NEW – The 2019 Red-Tailed Hawk Invitational will be held on all three Tellico Village Championship Golf Courses! NEW – Matches will begin a half hour earlier at 8:30 a.m. NEW – Ladies Luncheon on Friday replaces the Party at the Pavilion NEW – Field is limited to TEN flights with six teams per flight (prior years were 12 flights). Generous tee gift options for both players at the Titleist & FootJoy Proshop on Wednesday evening Five 9-hole matches: your team will play a match against every team in your flight for a fun and challenging competition with great camaraderie The format for all five matches is four-ball (2-person best ball) All play will be from the white markers, except: Members may elect to play from the orange markers, provided at least 75% of their posted rounds are played from orange markers Guests may elect to play from the orange markers if the combination of their handicap index and age is 90 or higher (as of 6/1/18). The maximum handicap differential between partners is 15.0. Teams with greater differentials may still participate; however, handicaps will be based on the maximum allowable differential. Optional “Skins Game” within each flight Breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday, Breakfast on Saturday Tellico Village Home Tour on Friday afternoon featuring beautiful homes from some of Tellico Village’s finest home builders Awards Cocktail and Dinner Party at the Tellico Village Yacht Club Unparalleled FUN!!! While past year participants have the first opportunity to sign up for this event,every year numerous NEW teams gain entry into the tournament. If we have more NEW teams applying than available slots, a lottery will be held to determine which teams get in the event and also determine the order of the waiting list. Based on prior years’ experience the chance of “winning” this lottery and gaining entry into the Red-Tailed Hawk Invitational will likely be 50:50 or greater! In fact, all teams on the waiting list in 2018 gained entry into the event! Please click the link below for an application for the 2019 Red-Tailed Hawk Invitational. If you are interested in participating in this year’s event, you must return a completed application to the Tanasi proshop by Friday, May 3rd at 5:00 p.m. The lottery to determine new teams in the event will be held at the Tanasi Proshop at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 6th. Incomplete applications will be returned and not considered in the lottery (including entry fee, all necessary information about your guest’s home course and handicap information, total number of people attending the Ladies and Awards Dinner, and the name of both spouses or significant others). RED-TAILED HAWK INVITATIONAL ENTRY FORM Below is an outline of more specific details about the Red-Tailed Hawk Invitational; I hope you will consider taking part in this outstanding event.   Wednesday, June 12th: Optional practice round at Toqua Golf Club, The Links at Kahite or Tanasi Golf Club (included in entry fee). Wednesday Night, June 12th: Enjoy a “Stag” Party for competitors. This event includes a buffet dinner and tournament gift shopping in the Titleist and FootJoy proshops. Each player receives $100 credit, with products deeply discounted for participants. Tournament programs will also be distributed this evening. Thursday, June 13th: First day of competition, matches 1 and 2. Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Toqua Golf Club. Breakfast will be available at the Toqua Pavilion at 7:00 a.m. with lunch served after play. Friday, June 14th: Second day of competition, matches 3 and 4. Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. at The Links at Kahite. Full breakfast will be available at 7:00 a.m. with lunch served after play. Friday, June 14th: Ladies Luncheon at the Yacht Club at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 14th: “Builders of Tellico Village” Home Tour in the afternoon. Saturday, June 15th: Final day of competition at Tanasi Golf Club, match 5. Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. Full breakfast at 7:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15th: Our CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOTOUT will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Tanasi Golf Club where all flight winning teams will compete to determine the2019 RED-TAILED HAWK INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Spectators are allowed and encouraged! Saturday, June 15th: Awards presentation, cocktail party and closing dinner at the Tellico Village Yacht Club.   You may return your application by mail or in person to the Tanasi Golf Club. The cost for the 2019 Red-Tailed Hawk Invitational is just $650.00 per team. A check payable to the “TV Men’s Member-Guest Committee” must be included with your completed application.
